Today is a good day.  We have been contacting some of the local dancers and are planning to do a marketing plan where we will on the hottest dancers of the bay area.  Look for it on our fanpage thebayareanightlife.com.

Search Engine Optimizations

Good news, last night while speaking with a friend about the website, I was informed that they were able to get some new clients using my website. Someone found them by do a vague search.  I already new that if anyone searched the major search engines with the keywords "Bay area nightlife" we were on page one.  But when some typed in the DJ's name it still popped up on page one.  That means our site is working.  Nice...

MAKING NEW FRIENDS

Last night I met up with a DJ who actually gets what I am trying to accomplish. I want to accomplish a premier event calendar website while he wants to be a premiere DJ.  A match of cross promotions.  We met using the social media website Facebook as I am sure a lot of new friendships are formed that way.  I like meeting people who know what they want out of life.  He set goals and seems to be on track to reaching it.  I am setting goals and hopefully I am on track to get there as well.  What I like is that people take advantage of what is given, and in return, they want to return the favor.  That is the way to build lasting business relations and hopefully friendships.

Well if you are reading this, that is because we just linked our new blogger account to my Facebook page.  Now I need to learn how to follow people and have them follow my blog.  That will probably be tomorrow!

My first warning!

Today I got my first warning from Facebook suggesting I am using Facebook incorrectly.  Something to the extent of me asking for more friends than I actually know.  Well duh, isn't that the whole purpose of Facebook.  To reach people outside of your normal group of friends.  To make new friends and network.  I understand the whole thing about being spammed, but there is a little button called unfriend.  Or better yet the little button called ignore friend request.  It is funny how some people get disillusioned by what Facebook friends really mean.  How many times have you heard this, "I have 1500 Facebook friends and I know everyone of them".  My response to this is when is the last time you called them to help you move furniture.

How to connect the links.

I have been figuring out how to connect the blogger logo to my website.  I know that I can download any logo from the web, but looking for an official logo from blogger has been extremely challenging to find.  Even looking through the search engines.  Once I find it I can link it correctly.

A new day!

When I woke up this morning, I was thinking, I have been designing this website for just about eight months, thinking of what would make my website complete, relevant and competitive with some of the other social media websites.  In my eyes, I feel that it is a full servicing website that covers any promotional part of someones business.  Obviously there are a lot of websites that do that, but I don't think that they look as clean or as easy to navigate as mine.  We have some interest, but not to the extent that I believe it should be at.  So the question of the day is, "Will people actually use this site?"
